WTOP ran an article today about whether $4 Billion should be spent on Widening I-270 for Toll lanes, or putting the cash into Transit projects.
WTOP - Light Rail or I-270 Toll roads?
Wow, we sure do seem to get more bang for the buck with the Rail. Although I do find it hard to believe that you can get:
1. The Red line extended from Shady Grove to Germantown.
2. All Day 2-Way MARC service from DC to Frederick
3. MARC Trains going to Hagarstown
4. The CCT Light Rail from Shady Grove to Clarksburg
5. Light Rail up MD RT 355 from White Flint to Gaithersburg.
Get all this for just one payment of $4,000,000,000.00. Pretty soon you are talking about real money.
